ATF Pistol Brace Rule
The Biden Administration wanted to ban more firearms by exploiting the National Firearms Act (NFA) to expand the definition of what counts as a short-barreled rifle (SBR) to include any firearm with a pistol brace. SBRs are heavily regulated, and to legally acquire one takes several months, an FBI background check, and a hefty tax. Per this new ATF regulation, a pistol brace attached to a handgun turns it into an SBR and owners must comply with the extra tax and regulations as if it's an NFA item. GOA and GOF filed this lawsuit with pistol brace owner Brady Brown and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on behalf of the state of Texas to stop this order from going into effect.
