After the Supreme Court's Bruen decision, California enacted S.B. 2, which like New York's so-called "Conceal Carry Imrpovement Act" doesn't improve anyone's right to carry, but dramatically expands the scope of places where citizens may not legally carry a firearm. GOA, GOF, Gun Owners of California, Second Amendment Foundation, NRA-CA, Liberal Gun Owners Association, and several other Californians are joining forces to sue the government of California into complying with both Bruen and the Constitution. Part of GOA's legal strategy is to file here and in other circut courts so the Supreme Court is more likely to rule again on the matter, further clarifying that the point of Bruen was to restore an individual citizen's right to a firearm, not open the door for states to further restrict it.
