New Jersey Permit to Purchase and one gun a month

Benton v. Platkin

New Jersey requires a "permit to purchase" for every handgun purchased and each permit can take 30 days to issue. In practice, permits to purchase take months and months to issue, infringining on New Jerseyans' Second Amendment rights. Likewise, New Jersey limits individuals to only purchasing one handgun a month, rationing the exercise of the Second Amendment in an unconstitutional way.
